i woke up the other morning and went out to water my plants, as usual. i looked at my messy back yard where i had an unused firepit, volunteer mint, a scraggly aspen, a diseased rose bush, and a gaggle of lavender. foooey i said, take it out, take it all out. so i dug it all out, and started digging a patio. gabe wanted to help, he's bored and out of projects, so off we went.

this is as far as i've gotten so far, working after hours from 7-10pm. it goes slower than one might imagine, 600 pavers, a mallet, and a whole lotta heat. thank goodness for the smokejumper parachute providing shade.
