the parsley patch

i love my parsley patch, it is just outside my back door and provides endless entertainment as i watch my manti grow up among its leaves. here are a few fans of this ever-lovin' herb. best viewed in maximize size, so give them a click
this guy has been here for 2 days
i'm wondering if he ate a few of my manti babies

lynette and lindsey stop by after going to the farmer's market
my praying mantis nest proved fruitful, so far I've counted 6 of the wee buggers in my parsley patch
this little lady was following my around the yard for a couple of days, even around my kitchen, past henry and winnabago, acting like she wanted me to hold her. she had a bad cold so a seed pod stuck to her nose. unfortunately i haven't seen her since a transformer blew out back, the power guys said a squirrel did it. i've got a feeling she's zapped.

mom and dad came for a long weekend, we had a great visit, and they fixed my gate!

annual firefighter memorial mustache ride

every year the firefighters of boise have one month to grow the 'best' mustache they can, then they have a fundraiser where people come in mustaches to bike from one end of town to the other, stopping at bars and the memorial site along the way. this year it was rainy, but over 200 of us powered through

modern (hotel) art

every year the modern hotel opens its rooms to artists, so they can display their art and ideas freely to the public. it is a creative blast. there are performance artists, writers, dancers, knitters, conceptualists, and of course, painters. we were thankful for the taco trucks as well, it took time to see everything
the masses making their way through the rooms. one room offered picket signs visitors could carry around
jesse, evie and chris join the fray
the room i helped with had writers who took a word from a visitor and created a short story out of it, this one is for my friend jimsi, her word was 'interesting'
my friend cari went to the oracle, who handed out sage words of wisdom
another room offered the gift of annonymity, so you could observe the courtyard guilt-free

more lately

excuse my use of the phone camera in recent posts, poor quality but good enough to give the gist of current boise action
mid-hike to look for baby owls with abbie, elsinore, lynette, lisa and lindsey
Chia 4! cari, chris and i (a.k.a. the chia pets) rocked the pub trivia. we got 4th place out of 13 teams. greg (far right) was there to cheer us on with his electro-bright polyester shirt.
