wee sleekit beasties an' haggis

robert burns is scotland's most famous poet; a prolific man of the people, embraced by the common man, mouse, and woman (he had 9 children and 4 wives before he died at age 37). angie (fellow scot, distant cousin) and charles joined me for the 107th annual 'rabbie burns supper'. you may know rabbie best for writing 'auld lang syne' sung at hogmanay (last day of the year). personally i like his poem written to a mouse that he inadvertently disturbed with his plough.

the Poem

to a mouse
Wee, sleekit, cow'rin', tim'rous beastie, O, what a panic's in thy breastie! ....

Ok so I won't post the whole thing, it's long and very Scottish. But I do like the first line. It is also where the Boise pipe band gets their name, the "Sleekit Beasties".
