small-world stories in rainy-town

i flew to seattle to visit anthony, a friend from my microsoft days. he was a reuters/white house staff photographer i hired to help our microsoft newspaper. i would often accompany him pretending to help, one of our last shoots was photographing john mccain. how odd that years later, anthony was dropping mccain onto a soccer field out of a chinook helicopter in kabul. that's small-world story #1.

this mag did a spread of anthony (far rt.) and his war pics. thanks to the war, he had to switch from civilian photographer back to a lieutenant colonel.

i got knish from my favorite knishery (knishaurant?) at the market

'ghostbusters' playing at the freemont outdoor theater

ballard loves pizza. i think.

a long sunday ride started at gassworks park

this elderly woman wouldn't sell. nope, she sure wouldn't.

earlier rains brought about some sink holes and slides, cutting off our route
what's on the other side of the sink hole? stupid people know... a slurpee!

post-ride with the boys. matt (r) is a photo buddy of anthony's. matt and i found out we lived in the same dorms in paris years ago, and we know the same people there on boulevard saint michele. that's small-world story #2. i love coinky-dinks.
